Camp Foodies Description

Camp Foodies is a half day hands on camp for kids (minimum 10 years of age). Each week campers will have an opportunity to learn about different cooking utensils, basic cooking techniques, nutrional values and kitchen safety. Campers will take home a recipe book with all recipes made throughout the week as well as a kitchen tool of the day.  Snacks will be made and eaten as a group.  We will then have an informational period where we discuss topics like the food pyramid, portion sizes, uses of kitchen tools, cooking techniques, etc.

In our first two camp sessions, each camper will then begin preparing an entree (serves 4 people) to be cooked at home that evening. They will also bring home ingredients to cook an accompaniment for the family to help prepare.

Graduation certificates will be given at the end of each week proclaiming your child an official Foodie!
